Siobhan strickhart | ANXIETY & TRAUMA THERAPIST

It’s okay to not be okay. I’m here to help you find your way forward.

Where did you get this idea that you have to be perfect?

Sure, you keep pushing yourself because that's what you've always done, but it's starting to feel like too much. The pressure to please everyone around you and “have it all together” feels suffocating. You might be noticing that your friends and family don't quite get how heavy this struggle is and how conflicted you feel inside. It’s like you’re trying to find your way through the maze, but you keep going in circles. You're craving a safe space where you can be honest and find the freedom to explore and wonder, but it's like there's no room for that anywhere.

Pause. Take a deep breath. You’ve come to the right place.

You have had to be too strong, for too long.

I believe in therapy that puts you first.

What does that mean? I’m always going to meet you where you are and move at your pace. I’ll listen to all the things you’re feeling and take the time required to understand who you really are beyond just your challenges. Change often happens when we dig beneath the surface, and we’ll take the time to do that so you can experience genuine, long-lasting change in your life.

As your therapist, I’ll take the time to look at things from your perspective—after all, you are the expert on your life. Sessions with me are honest, thoughtful, and inviting—because the last thing you need in your life is for therapy to feel like another place you have to “put on a face.” I do the deep work necessary to get to know the real you while bringing my own experience and expertise in treating anxiety and trauma.

How I Work

I believe that to change yourself, you first need to understand yourself.

When we work together, the focus will be on exploring how your past influences your present. Most of us move through life unconsciously, using a variety of coping strategies that may have served us very well in the past, but may be holding us back in the present. Examples of these might include avoidance, people-pleasing, or over-working.

In sessions with me, we will discover what your coping strategies are and where they originated from. Then we will work on healing that wounded part of you, so that you can release the old strategies (such as people-pleasing) and replace them with better ones (such as healthy boundaries).
