Trauma Therapy & Attachment Counseling in NJ & PA
No matter how much time passes, the memories of what you went through still feel present in your mind and body.
You do everything you can to keep those old emotions from resurfacing—avoiding certain places or activities, staying up super late to postpone the nightmares, being hyper-aware of your surroundings—but they continue to show up regardless of how careful you are. Sometimes, you get anxious to the point of panic, and other times you feel completely frozen. And it’s embarrassing and hard to explain every time you overreact to something small or melt down in public.
You want to overcome what you’ve been through and move forward in your life—I’m here to help you do that.
When trauma responses take over, even in safe moments, it can feel impossible to fully live the life you want.
Trauma responses, shaped by past experiences, can feel overwhelming—but with the right support, you can begin to reclaim a sense of safety and peace in the present.
Healing isn’t about erasing the past; it’s about breaking free from survival patterns that once protected you but now keep you stuck. With the guidance of a compassionate therapist, you can learn to reduce the intensity of these responses, expand your ability to handle life’s stressors, and reconnect with a sense of grounding and inner strength.
Challenges won’t disappear, but they won’t define you. Healing allows you to move through life with greater balance, resilience, and the freedom to truly live.
MY APPROACH
Your brain and body have been doing their best to protect you.
When it comes to working through trauma, we don’t dive into painful experiences headfirst. Instead, we’ll start by cultivating a deep sense of safety and connection. This strong foundation includes: ensuring you feel at ease sharing your story to the extent you're comfortable, helping you understand how trauma affects the brain and body, and exploring tools like mindfulness, DBT, and EMDR to support regulation. Before anything else, we establish a space where you feel safe enough to do the deeper work.
When it’s time to process, we go at your pace.
When it’s time to process your experiences, we will go at your own pace. Some people come in with a clear traumatic memory, while others feel stuck, afraid, or uncertain. Healing is possible for everyone. We can use different methods, like EMDR, DBT, or trauma-informed therapy, depending on what feels right for you. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all way to heal, so we will try different approaches, such as talking, movement, art, or others.
As we work together, we will move from focusing on the past to bringing healing into your everyday life. This includes building your sense of self, setting meaningful goals, and finding more ease in the present. Trauma work takes time, and healing is not always a straight path. However, that doesn’t mean you are stuck forever. Wherever you are in the process, and whatever you bring to therapy, we will move forward together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
